Description
The ‘Zeppelinplatz’ is located north of the town centre of Weimar. The new design for this space is based upon a historic development plan and creates a large open green space without losing the necessary spatial definition.As the site was shaded by large trees, the crowns were radically reduced and the roof of leaves was raised as high as possible. The symmetry of the space and the necessary composition is retained in the spaces, the volume, the colours and the forms of the design.
The very important role of the space for children is honoured by the inclusion of an extensive children’s playground in which the main theme is played by the ‘Zeppelin’. This theme interprets the ‘Zeppelin’ in various ways and provides exciting play space for children of all ages.
